FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Account Info and Billing
How do I pay my TID fees?
There are very few fees on The Internet Depot, so invoice payments will only apply to members who list with enhanced features that have a cost involved. If you list without enhanced feature, you will not have any balances due. .

There are two different ways to pay your seller fees:

1) Click the pay now button in the invoice email that is sent on the 1st of each month.

2) Click the My Account tab in the members area, then click the Manage Account sub tab. Your account balance will be shown on this page, along with a credit your account section. Enter the amount you wish to pay, then click the payment link to proceed to the payment gateway.

NOTE: We do not require payment for accounts with a balance due of $5.00 or less. Monthly invoices will not be sent to users with a balance less than $5.00
Is the $5 verification fee a one time fee?
The $5 verification fee is a one time process.

Yes it is a one time fee for as long as you keep the same verified information, If you change your registered information then you will need to be reverified.

This helps to keep everyone safe

Also the $5.00 that you pay to be verified we in return give you $10.00 credit towards the site.

So it is a WIN WIN Situation for you.
How do I close my account?
To close your account you would just need to turn all your email preferences to the off position, and end any active auctions you may have running.

You would then not receive any correspondence from The Internet Depot in the future, unless you turn any of your email preferences back on. If you have been the buyer or seller in any recent transactions, you may receive correspondence from the other member involved.

We do not purge accounts from our database, for internal security reasons. Requests for such a purge will not be completed, unless a court order is issued.
Why is my account suspended?
Accounts are suspended for various reasons. If your account is suspended, you should have received an email detailing the reason(s).

Some of the main reasons for account suspensions are listed below:

  • Contact info not valid

  • Buyer complaint that seller has neglected to respond to The Internet Depot admin email. We usually give the seller 3-7 days to reply to our requests for information.

  • Bidding on items without paying. We usually do not suspend for only one of these types of infractions, but we reserve the right to take action we deem necessary after conducting our investigations.

  • Repeated violations of our listing policies. (spam listings, illegal items, links in auctions, etc,.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Members who are suspended are prohibited from registering new accounts, bidding or selling on The Internet Depot using any other existing accounts. The Internet Depot reserves the right to suspend existing accounts as well as new accounts opened by anyone in the same household of a suspended user or by any other associates of a suspended user.

I signed up for an account, but never received a confirmation email.
Emails are automatically sent from our system within 60 seconds of registration. Not receiving a confirmation email is usually due to spam filtering... Either by your ISP or settings on your computer.

You may want to check your spam or bulk mail folders, to see if your activation email was routed there. You will also want to make sure admin@eatld.com is in your allowed senders list.

We resend activation emails twice a week to all account that have yet to be confirmed. If you continue to have problems receiving the activation email, you may need to create a new account and use a different email address. Yahoo and gmail email addresses work very good with our system.
I forgot my password, how can I sign in?
On the sign in page is a "forgot your password" link. Click that link to be directed to a form to request a new password. Fill in your email address and username to have a new password emailed to you.

The Internet Depot staff does not have access to your password for security reasons. So requests via email for this information will be answered with the details listed above for requesting a new password.
I try to login, but it says my account is not valid...

When trying to login and you receive a username not valid error means one of two things:

1) You have mistyped your username.

Try logging in again, and be sure you spell your username exactly as you used to register.

2) We have deleted your account for failure to provide complete and/or accurate contact information.

We screen all new registrations. If we find a registration with missing or invalid contact info, we automatically delete the account. It is the users responsibility to enter complete and accurate information when registering. The majority of registrations that we automatically delete are due to users not entering their complete name... First name only is not valid contact info. The second major factor that results in account deletion is entering an invalid phone number. A valid phone number where you can be reached is required for all members.
Why is my new password not working?
You have requested a new password via the "forgot password" form on the sign in page, and this password is not working...

There are usually two reasons for this:

1) You are using the copy/paste feature on your PC to transfer password data. This does not always work, so you will need to hand enter the password exactly as it appears in the email you received.

2) Refreshing/reloading the password request page after submitting, or sending multiple requests for a new password. Only submit a new password request once, then wait for the email. The email is sent immediately by us, but sometimes mail providers have a delay for spam filtering purposes, or other reasons. If you are using msn.com or hotmail.com email address, you may not recieve this email, due to their (our opinion) "flawed" spam filtering technology.
I requested a new password, but it is hard to remember. Can I change this?
If you have forgot your password and requested a new password, we recommend that you change this once you sign in.

To change your password click the my details button in the members area, then click the "edit your personal information" link. Go to the bottom of this page and enter your new password in both the password and confirm password sections, then click the update information button to apply these changes.

NOTE: When choosing a new password be sure to choose something that is easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess. Do not use any of your contact information or your username for a new password.
Buying
I won an item but no longer want to purchase it. What should I do?

A bid or Buy Out purchase is considered a contract and you are obligated to purchase the item.

However, mistakes sometimes happen, and many sellers are willing to work with you if you communicate with them openly and honestly. If you have not done so already, you may want to give the seller a call, or send them an email. Let the seller know your situation, and see if you can work things out to everyone's satisfaction.

If the seller does not respond in the way you hope, keep in mind that failing to purchase an item you have won may result in negative feedback, as well as an Non paying bidder strike against your account. Too many unpaid item strikes may result in permanent suspension of your account.

How do I pay for an auction?
If your seller accepts Direct Pay and has this option activated for the auction in question, you can pay from your bidding page. Simply go to your bidding page in the members area, and click the pay now button for the appropriate auction.

If your seller does not have Direct Pay set up, you will need to wait for them to invoice you. If your seller has not contacted you within 2-3 business days, we recommend you send them an email or give them a call. Some sellers rely on our automated "your auction has sold" emails to know when their items sell, which are sometimes blocked by spam filters. So just because you seller has not contacted you, does not mean they are not intersted in selling the item to you.

Should your seller not reply to you within three business days, please report this to us through our contact form, or through an abuse report. Please do not contact us if you have not first tried to contact your seller, and gave them appropriate time to respond (3 business days).
How do I bid on an item?

If you have found an item you would like to place a bid on, you can do so quickly and easily by following these steps:-

* Login to your account – If you have not registered you can do so within 5 minutes.
* Visit the auction page you are interested in purchasing.

BIDS:
Just below the gallery image towards the top of the auction page will be a "place bid" box (if there is not a bid box, then the auction is a "Buy Out" only auction). Enter in your bid and click on the “place bid” button. You will then be asked to confirm you bid, once you have done so your bid will be entered, if successful you will receive a confirmation message. If you bid fails to outbid the current high bidder you will be offered the option to place a higher bid.

Proxy bidding can aid your chances of winning an auction and help avoid you being outbid at the last moment. To place a proxy bid enter in the maximum price you are willing to pay for the item. If another user places a bid on the same auction, automatic bids will be placed on your behalf in accordance with your maximum bid amount. With proxy bidding you will pay the lowest possible price until someone else places a higher bid.

BUY OUT:
If a seller designates a "buy out" price, you will see this option just above the auction description. Buy Out prices are set by the seller, if you agree with that price, you can click on the “buy out” button and proceed with your purchase. After clicking on the "buy out" button you will be re-directed to a confirmation page. After clicking the "proceed" button, you are now obligated to purchase this item at the designated price listed.

I made payment for an item, but it is marked as unpaid.
If you make payment for an auction outside of The Internet Depot site, our system will not know this and will reflect "unpaid" as the status. The buyer will have to manually update the status of this item in the members area.

If your seller accepts one of our many forms of direct pay, you will be able to pay directly from your items won page. Once payment is completed, this page would be updated automatically (within approximately 15 minutes), showing a status of "paid".

If you pay outside the site, many sellers just ship items without updating this page. So it is very common to pay for items and receive them without this page ever being updated.
Can I retract or cancel my bid?

You can retract a bid (not buy out) if the auction has more than 12 hours left before the listing ends. When you do this, all your previous other bids for this auction will also be eliminated. So be sure to bid again if you are correcting a bidding error that you made.

To retract your bid, click the bidding tab in the members area. Find the auction you wish to remove the bid on and click the remove bid option.

Note: There is noequivalent for bid retraction in Buy Out listings, or for listings where the bidding has ended. Once you've confirmed your purchase, you are obligated to pay the seller.

Registration and emails
I have not received a reply to an email sent to The Internet Depot
Sometimes we get backed up with emails, and it may take 2-3 days for you to receive a response. We suggest posting in the community pages as much as possible. As many times you will be able to get responses to your questions much faster.

There may already be answers to your questions posted there, as there are many questions that have been asked by other members. Just do a quick search in the community, and you may find your answer. If you do not find your answer, there is usually a staff or community member hanging around that may be able to assist you. If not immediately, usually within a few hours.

When you registered on The Internet Depot Market Place, a community account was automatically created for you. Using the same username and password used to initially register. So you will be able to login to the community with the same credentials.

I am trying to register, but your system will not allow my email address
There are some domains that we do not allow for registration, due to various reasons listed below.

@msn.com: Not allowed because their system blocks all our automated emails, which is required on the The Internet Depot
site.

@hotmail.com: Not allowed because their system blocks all our automated emails, which is required on the The Internet Depot
site.

We have no control over how these companies manage their systems, so we cannot allow use of these email providers on the The Internet Depot
site. If you have a problem with this policy, please direct your complaints to the email provider. Possibly if they receive enough complaints, they may modify their system.

If you need a free email account to use with our system, gmail and yahoo work very well.
Rules and Policies
Accepted Payments Policy
The Internet Depot wants to ensure that we offers buyers an array of safe, appropriate, and convenient payment choices.

Merchants with their own merchant credit card processing account, and those who use a third-party credit card processor, may also offer their buyers the option of paying directly with a credit card online (including through third party checkout) or by phone.

The Internet Depot has over 30 Credit Card gateways integrated into our site to give sellers their potiental buyers more payment options along with giving the sellers an alternative to Paypal.

Offline payment methods generally do not offer the same level of protection or convenience as online payments. Nonetheless, they may be appropriate for certain types of transactions and sellers may use listings to offer acceptance of most valid financial instruments including personal checks, cashier’s checks, money orders or COD.

Other online payment methods allowed on WeBidz:

Allpay.net, cash2india, Checkfree.com, Google Checkout, hyperwallet.com, Nochex.com, Paymate.com.au, Propay.com, XOOM

Payment methods not allowed on The Internet Depot:

Sellers may not solicit buyers to mail cash. Sellers may not ask buyers to send cash through instant cash transfer services (non-bank, point-to-point cash transfers) such as Western Union or Moneygram. Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation

  • Limits on account privilege

  • Account suspension

  • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings
Pre-Sale Listings

Pre-sale listings are those that describe items for sale that are not in the control or possession of the seller at the time of the listing. These listings generally consist of items that are sold in advance of a delivery date to the public.

The Internet Depot permits Pre-sale listings only on a limited basis. The seller must guarantee that the item will be available for shipping within 30 days from the date of purchase (i.e., the day the listing ends or the date the item is purchased from a store front listing). The seller must also clearly indicate within the listing the fact that the item is a pre-sale item with a delivery date that indicates the item will be shipped by the 30th day from the end date of the listing. Additionally, this text must be the same size as the item description text, and not be hidden within the description.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation

  • Limits on account privilege

  • Account suspension

  • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings
Invalid email addresses
A member’s account must always have a valid, working email address so the user can be contacted by other members and by The Internet Depot. If a spam filter prevents messages from The Internet Depot or its members from reaching an account, the account is considered to have an invalid email address. Members need to take steps to ensure their account is valid and working.

Accounts can be suspended and auctions ended if we find an email to be invalid, or emails are bounced.
Excessive Shipping Charges

Sellers may charge reasonable shipping and handling fees to cover the costs for mailing, packaging, and handling the items they are selling. While The Internet Depot will not prescribe exactly what a seller may or may not charge, we will rely on member reports and our own discretion to determine whether or not a seller’s shipping, handling, packaging, and/or insurance charges are excessive. Shipping and handling fees may not be listed as a percentage of the final sale price.

Sellers who want to be sure they are in compliance with this policy may charge actual shipping costs plus actual packaging materials cost (or less).

In addition to the final listing price, sellers are permitted to charge:

Actual Shipping cost: This is the actual cost (i.e. postage) for shipping the item.

Handling Fee: Actual packaging materials costs may be charged. A handling fee in addition to actual shipping cost may be charged if it is not excessive.

Insurance: Sellers offering insurance may only charge the actual fee for insurance. No additional amount may be added, such as “self-insurance”. Sellers who do not use a licensed 3rd party insurance company may not require buyers to purchase insurance. This is a violation of state law.

Tax: Only actual applicable federal, state, country, city, VAT, and equivalent taxes may be charged.

For cross border transactions, sellers may not collect tariffs and duties. However, buyers may be responsible for actual, applicable tariffs, and duties as requested by respective country laws.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation

  • Limits on account privilege

  • Account suspension

  • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings
Multiple Listings
Sellers may not concurrently have more than 1000 listings for identical items. If a seller chooses to list in more than one category, the seller must still adhere to the multiple listings limit of 1000. Sellers may not use multiple User IDs to list more than 1000 identical items.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation

  • Limits on account privilege

  • Account suspension

  • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings
Reserve Price Violations

A seller is not permitted to misuse the Reserve price feature. Misuse includes:

  • Stating the reserve price of the item when the item has not been listed using the reserve price feature.

  • Stating that the high bidder is obligated to purchase the item even if the reserve price has not been met.

  • Forgetting to set a reserve, then not honoring the final bid price

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

  • Listing cancellation

  • Limits on account privilege

  • Account suspension

  • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings
Links Policy
The Internet Depot allows sellers to place only certain types of links within an item description. A link is any mechanism used to take a member off of The Internet Depot site, whether static or clickable. This applies to any format used for a link that includes but is not limited to, text, images, logos or icons.

Non-permitted links include, but are not limited to:

  • Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

    • Listing cancellation

Home Page and Category Featured Policy

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

    • Listing cancellation

    • Limits on account privilege

    • Account suspension

    • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings

The following types of listings are not eligible for listing as Home Page Featured:

    • Listings that promote body enhancement products, such as breast enlargement supplements

    • Listings for art that contains any kind of nudity

    • Listings for sexual attractants, such as pheromones

    • Listings for any type of lingerie, undergarments, or any other listing with sexually revealing pictures

    • Listings for health or cosmetic products or services that make unrealistic or unsubstantiated claims

The Internet Depot enforces certain standards for Home Page Featured Listings due to the high visibility of these listings. The Internet Depot has always exercised judgment in allowing or disallowing certain listings consistent with a family friendly environment, and we will apply this principle to items that use the Home Page Featured listing upgrades.

    Keyword Spamming
Keyword spamming occurs when members place brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description for the purpose of gaining attention or diverting members to a listing. Keyword spamming in listings is not permitted on. The searchable text sellers place in listings must be directly relevant to the item being sold.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

    • Listing cancellation

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

    • Listing cancellation

    • Limits on account privileges

    • Account suspension

    • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings

If a seller lists an auction simply as “X-Box 360”, the seller must be selling an actual X-Box 360. Not accessories to an X Box 360, or information on how to get an X-Box 360, or items related to or unrelated to an X-Box 360.

The auction title must be an accurate depiction of what product is actually being sold. The Internet Depot reserves the right to make the decision on what we feel is misleading.

    Mod Chips and Game Enhancers

Mod chips, game enhancers and boot discs are devices that enable domestic video game consoles to play backup or import versions of video games. These devices are not permitted on The Internet Depot.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

    • Listing cancellation

    • Limits on account privilege

    • Account suspension

    • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings
    Travel Related Auctions
Providers of Travel: Businesses that actually provide travel services, such as airlines, trains, hotels, resorts, and cruise ships, may list items such as their own gift certificates, airline tickets, lodging, cruises, or vacation packages. As providers of the actual travel service, they are often exempted from seller-of-travel laws and need not provide travel licensure information. However, they should clearly identify themselves in the listing as the actual provider of the travel services offered.

    • Businesses selling travel services: Businesses and individuals who sell and/or arrange air or sea travel or accommodations (but do not directly provide the travel service themselves) may list air and ship related travel items (i.e. airplane tickets and cruise trips), along with accommodations, only if they are licensed as sellers of travel lawfully able to do business in all 50 states and they themselves will be booking the travel for the winning bidder. Their listings should clearly set out their travel license number as well as any other license information required in other states that the item is available for sale. Sellers are required to include the following disclaimer in all listings for travel exactly as it appears below and in a text size and color that can easily be seen and read by all bidders:

"By listing this auction I verify that I am the actual travel agent or travel provider and not a third party affiliate. The travel/accommodations in this auction will be booked directly through me and not an outside agency. I also verify that, other than the government taxes and related government fees stated within the listing description itself, there will be absolutely no additional fees, charges or after auction purchases associated with booking the travel within this listing."

For travel services other than air or sea travel, businesses and individuals may offer gift certificates or coupons that are issued by a specific provider of travel, such as a gift certificate to a particular hotel. They may not, however, offer travel club memberships.

    • Individuals: Individual travelers who are not in the business of selling travel services, but simply wish to sell an unused air or sea related travel voucher or gift certificate, may do so no more than one trip per month provided that the item is not a travel club membership, or related item. In such instances, the seller may play no role in arranging any travel other than delivering the item. Please note that many airline tickets, vouchers, and frequent flier miles are not transferable, and sellers should review any travel related item before listing to make sure that it can be transferred legally to another party and will be accepted by the issuing provider of travel services.

    • Travel club memberships: The Internet Depot will not permit listings of travel club memberships or similar items by any user. Travel club memberships include any service, cards, or identification number that purports to give the holder the right to free or discounted travel, that is, certificates that entitle the holder to some travel related benefit (such as free or low cost hotel stays) with a variety of travel providers.

    Improper category
All auctions must be listed in appropriate categories.

  • Books should be listed in the books category, not in cell phones.

  • A coin set should be listed in the coins category, not in stamps.

  • Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

    • Listing cancellation

    • Limits on account privilege

    • Account suspension

    • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings
    False or Missing Contact Information

Falsifying or omitting contact information such as a member’s name, address, and/or telephone number when registering on The Internet Depot is not permitted. It is also not permitted to use fax or disconnected numbers as a telephone number.

If you believe a member is using false contact information, please report it using our contact us page.

If we find any contact information to be invalid, we may temporarily suspend that members account until this info is updated. Temporary suspensions may include the removal of active auctions and cancellation of bids. The Internet Depot will not be liable for any monetary losses, or any other resulting effects that suspensions for violation this policy may have on a members account.
    Warranties

Sellers who offer either a written warranty or service contract with the items must in their item descriptions provide one of the following:

    • The full text of the written warranty

    • A statement explaining how a free copy of the written warranty can be obtained upon written request

    • A link within the listing that takes members to the warranty details

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

    • Listing cancellation

    • Limits on account privilege

    • Account suspension

    • Forfeit of fees on cancelled listings
    Selling
How much does it cost to sell on your site?
Basic listing is free on the The Internet Depot. We do not have any final sale fees. Some of our enhanced features for listings do have fees though... To view all site fees, please visit our Site Fees page.

In order to sell on the The Internet Depot, users must first become verified. There is a one time fee of $5.00, and verification will remain as long as the contact info remains the same. When listing an item, you will be prompted to verify your account before proceeding. Once verification is completed, you will not receive this prompt again.
    Requirements for selling.
To sell on The Internet Depot you need to first register for an account. Then verify your identity though our verified program. Verification is now an automated process, and you will be able to list immediately upon completion of this step. To verify your account, just click the SELL button located on the main header menu. You will then be directed to the verification page if your account is not verified. Once verification is completed, you will not see this verification prompt again.
How do I get paid for my item?
There are various ways to get paid from your buyers. Please view our Acceptable Payments Policy to view which forms of payment are acceptable and which forms are not allowed on The Internet Depot.

While listing an item, you would select which payment methods you will accept. You would then invoice your buyer after the sale... either from your selling page in the members area, from the The Internet Depot Auction Manager software, or simply sending them an email. You would inform them of the total due and what forms of payment you accept.

If you select any of the online payment methods we have listed in our Acceptable Payments Policy, you will need to ensure that you first create an account with that company.
